Principally, provides immediate supervision to personnel engaged in the operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of stationary motors and mechanical equipment such as sprinkler systems, alarm systems, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems, heating and cooling system components, air conditioners pumps, compressors, and generator, to provide distribution of heat, power, gases, air pressure, water pressure, suction, carpentry, and other energy sources throughout the hospital complex. Schedules and assigns work by work order via the section foreman, form the preventive maintenance schedule, maintenance requisitions, or in response to trouble calls; establish priorities; estimates time and materials and workforce needed for each job; and advises supervisor accordingly, for planning purposes.
