On an assigned shift, in all departments, performs the following: Operation of a variety of specialized and heavy duty equipment such as back hoe, hi-lift with bucket and/or wingplow, front end loader, dump truck with a plow or wingplow, bulldozer, hydraulic broom (street sweeper), tractor trailer, tractor with mower, pavement rollers and related pieces of equipment;, Performs minor maintenance work which includes daily checking of zerk fittings and grease when necessary, draining of air valves, checking fuel and oil level, steam cleaning throughout, as required; Performs any task related to maintenance or upkeep of equipment; Performs manual work in connection with the operation of specialized or heavy-duty equipment; Reports problems with equipment and documents same; Wears safety equipment as required; Performs related duties as required. OPEN COMPETITIVE, Applicants must meet one of the following: ONE YEAR of full-time experience in the operation of specialized heavy-duty equipment including hi-lift with bucket (front-end loader), tractor-trailer, and a dump truck with a wing plow or plow.
