Education, training, and/or experience in automotive, heavy vehicle, and/or construction equipment maintenance, repair, and diagnosis or another closely related mechanical field demonstrating competency in overhauling and rebuilding vehicles and heavy equipment; identifying and correcting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and computerized system problems; and using specialized tools, equipment, and repair methods. Work includes diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems, evaluating overall condition, and performing skilled technical tasks in testing, installing, repairing, rebuilding, rewiring, replacing, and fabricating parts for the maintenance, repair, and rebuild of a variety of heavy vehicle, automotive, and construction equipment.
