You will be involved in all aspects of interior and exterior pest control and landscape maintenance services across LLNLs sites. Work assignments will vary based on operational needs, seasonality, and weather, and may include periods of frequent pesticide/herbicide application as well as periods focused primarily on general landscape maintenance and installation. This position is in the Facilities Services Division of the Infrastructure Engineering and Operations Department and may require work at Site 300 located in Tracy, California.This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.You will:<ul><li>Perform all aspects of pest control across the Laboratory and facility spaces including the application of herbicides and pesticides, and the monitoring, identification, treatment, and prevention of pests.</li><li>Practice industry guidelines; prepare equipment and mix chemicals using the appropriate treatment and equipment method in compliance with all pesticide rules and regulations.</li><li>Perform site-wide landscaping and grounds maintenance; mowing, edging, trimming; pruning trees, shrubs, and plants; and installing and maintaining landscaping surfaces.</li><li>Operate standard equipment and tools used in gardener tasks such as power hand tools, wood-chippers, aerial platform trucks, tractors, trenching equipment, motor vehicles, and other equipment common to the landscape trade. Maintain gardening equipment, including sharpening and changing blades as necessary.</li><li>Operate specialized equipment including pest control sprayers, live traps, and watering equipment including fumigators, hand tanks, and 300-gallon tanks.</li><li>Prepare standard and specialized reports for permits, equipment and vehicle inspections, pest control operations, and deficiency forms; record daily pesticide usage and provide input to required pest control records (e.g., Pest Control Trainee Record Book and other regulatory documentation as applicable).</li><li>Perform tasks in accordance with safety regulations and procedures, fulfilling all integrated safety, security, property, and pest management responsibilities.</li><li>Provide good customer service and effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.</li><li>High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience; valid Californias drivers license.</li><li>Current State of California certification to apply pesticides.</li><li>Intermediate to advanced experience in pest control, including mixing and applying herbicides/pesticides and fertilizers in compliance with applicable rules and regulations and operating spray equipment (including truck tank systems up to 160-gallon capacity).</li><li>Intermediate to advanced skills, knowledge, and abilities performing shrub and tree pruning, mowing, and trimming.</li><li>Experience troubleshooting and repairing irrigation systems and performing specialized tasks, i.e., high-tree pruning, tree removal, and/or stump grinding.</li><li>Experience operating and maintaining standard equipment and tools for gardener tasks such as wood-chippers, aerial platform equipment, tractors, and motor vehicles.</li><li>Basic knowledge and ability to apply Safety policies and procedures.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to successfully follow directions and complete requests; customer service and communication skills and the ability to work independently or as a team member interacting well with others.</li><li>Basic computer skills necessary to complete timekeeping, web-based training, and service requests, and prepare standard reports.</li><li>Ability to become medically qualified to wear required respiratory and other protective equipment and perform moderate work while wearing full-face or half-mask respirators.</li></ul>Qualifications We Desire:<ul><li>Experience in making independent decisions and providing safety training.</li></ul>Pay Range

Job Responsibilities:<ul><li style="list-style-type:disc">Support Lead and Route Maintenance team members in maintaining a diverse portfolio of farms, edible gardens, landscapes, and outdoor spaces across the Bay Area.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Perform routine property and landscape maintenance, including pruning, weeding, planting, debris removal, and general site upkeep.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Assist with irrigation setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Perform farm and garden tasks including planting, harvesting, crop care, soil management, and seasonal bed preparation.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Learn and apply sustainable farming and landscape management practices, including organic growing methods, soil health, and integrated pest management.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Harvest, wash, and prepare produce for distribution to clients.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Monitor sites for maintenance needs and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and workspaces in a clean, organized, and safe condition.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Build and maintain positive relationships with clients through professional communication and quality workmanship.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Follow Farmscape standards, best practices, and safety procedures.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Represent Farmscape in a friendly, professional, and solutions-oriented manner.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Drive between project sites, supply vendors, and company facilities as needed (valid driver's license required).</li></ul> Qualifications:<ul><li style="list-style-type:disc">Some experience with farming or landscaping</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Valid driver’s license & proof of insurance</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Ability to learn and adapt to Farmscape best practices</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Friendly and clear communicator </li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Organizational skills and attention to detail a must</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Curiosity, resourcefulness, tenacity and strong work ethic </li></ul>Physical Demands: <ul><li style="list-style-type:disc">Ability to lift 50lbs</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Ability to perform manual work, lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time </li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions</li></ul>To Apply: Please send resume to apply. NO CALLS PLEASE.Fair Chance Statement Farmscape complies with the San Francisco, Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance (FCO) and the California Fair Chance Act (FCA).
