Supports the efforts of source water protection and the Safe Drinking Water Act by: + managing ground water databases supporting the Statewide Ground Water Monitoring Network; + supports the field sampling efforts of the Statewide Ground Water Monitoring Network; + reviews and evaluates technical guidance documents, reports, journals and related articles; + reviews departmental files for assessing and reporting; + provides technical assistance to staff, state and federal agencies, industries, contractors, environmental engineering consultants and the public; + attends related training, conferences and seminars; + performs related duties as assigned. Staff members inspect and monitor regulated entities; provide compliance and technical assistance; monitor and assess air, land, and water quality; use enforcement actions as necessary to ensure compliance; and respond to incidents involving spills to soil or waters of the state.
