p>Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of seasonal gardening tasks, such as; fertilizing, preparing seedbeds, transplanting, laying sod, aerating, pruning, trimming, and applying chemicals to plants; grounds maintenance; skill in operating a variety of tractors and in operating one or more gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a GVW of more than 10,000 and up to 26,000 pounds. Those activities include child development and youth centers, the Langley Club, a golf course, bowling center, auto hobby shop, community center, marina, an outdoor recreation program, indoor and outdoor pools, and various administrative support offices - just to name a few.

The Preventative Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the Equipment Manager and Equipment Technicians in performing routine preventative maintenance and general repairs on Golf Course Maintenance equipment.

Assist golfers by loading and unloading bags, preparing them for play, answering questions, offering golf course etiquette suggestions, and providing post-round support, including cleaning clubs and delivering them to cars as needed. This position supports the golf operations team by assisting with essential outside services, such as bag handling, cart preparation, range operations, and maintaining the cleanliness of work areas.

Complete assigned tasks within given time limits • Drive a maintenance vehicle • Drive a tractor • Operate several different types of mowers • Perform manual labor as needed such as: • Hand-watering areas without irrigation • Rake bunkers • Snow removal • Assist with handling preventative maintenance, repairs, and setup of all equipment and licensed vehicles used by the crew at the grounds maintenance facility • Inspect, replace/repair a wide variety of machinery used to keep the golf grounds in good condition • Assist in the maintenance of inventory of parts and supplies • Assist with organizing maintenance records, parts manuals, and tools • Keep the shop clean and orderly. • Learn how to operate different types of mowers • Learn the proper use, cleaning and storage of equipment used by the grounds maintenance crew • Learn how to grind and sharpen mower's reels and bed knives • Learn to operate most equipment required for golf course maintenance • Learn how to repair small engines • Learn how to repair tractor engines (gas and diesel) • Learn about Hydraulics, Welding, and Electronics.
