Our team of nursing staff provide exemplary care for a variety of complex patients with varying diagnosis such as stroke, heart failure, pneumonia, sepsis, liver/kidney failure, BKAs/AKAs, diabetes, GI bleed, sickle cell, rheumatic disorders, psychiatric, and behavioral health disorders.
Our diversified healthcare delivery network spans 29 states and includes 63 community hospital campuses, 32 rehabilitation and behavioral health hospitals, and more than 170 additional sites of care across the healthcare continuum, such as acute rehabilitation units, outpatient centers and post-acute care facilities. 6A Telemetry & Progressive Care Unit is a dynamic, blended unit with 36 total beds:
- 24 Telemetry beds staffed at a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.
The team includes paramedics, nurses, respiratory therapists, emergency medical technicians, and communications specialists who work quickly to provide compassionate care and transport services to critically ill patients of all ages. Plan and provide advanced and/or specialized nursing care for patients guided by DUHS Professional Practice model and approved EMS practices, participate in the clinical ladder program, educational activities, departmental committees, research projects or other health related projects as assigned.
We provide pre and post procedure appointments for Chronic Wounds Care which consist of pressure ulcers, non-healing surgical wounds, trauma wounds, wounds associated with slow bloodflow to lower extremities. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within seven years of their start date.
