RESPONSIBILITIES: Diagnose and render high quality dental care; Perform dental examinations, treatment, and complete dental care of patients; Perform extractions, filling, prophylaxis, and prosthetics; Participate in the performance or oral surgery; Participate in LEAN and other activities necessary to implement the multi-disciplinary patient-centered medical home approach; Interpret dental x-rays; Maintain all dental records as prescribed by Dental Policy and Procedures Manual; Conduct in-service training programs in oral health for the dental staff and for other Health Center staff, as needed; Teach oral health education, including preventative care and nutrition to patients; Assist in teaching dental staff specific dental procedures outlined in the Department's Procedure Manual; Assist in ordering, receiving and storage of dental supplies; Community outreach and other duties as assigned; Updates job knowledge by participating in continuing dental educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations; Other duties assigned.
