RNs may be floating to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), as needed to care for acutely ill newborns with a variety of medical conditions such as recovering from surgery, and having a variety of other medical needs, thereby enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations.

Required certifications include active Registered Nurse license, AHA BLS/NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), MAB or CPI, LA City Fire and Life Safety card (must be LA City Fire), and must complete the LA County Employee Health Clearance before assignment start date.
