This full-time position is responsible for teaching four World History classes per year, as well as one elective course per term, and acting as an advisor for a group of students (a mixed group of 10-12 students from grades 9-12).  </div><div><br/></div><div><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></div><ul><li>Teach five classes as assigned, using a variety of teaching methods to support different learning styles, abilities, and identities.</li><li>Lead an advisory/homeroom to support students with organization, self-advocacy, and social skill development. </li><li>Facilitate (8th period) homework support session four days a week.</li><li>Collaborate with the Social Studies Department on curriculum development and reform.</li><li>Attend weekly faculty meetings, department meetings, and two all-school professional development events.</li><li>Other tasks and/or duties (e.g., attend the school’s auction and open house; chaperone a dance; coordinate family and student conferences; etc.) as assigned.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>Knowledge of:</strong></div><ul><li>Principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies as they pertain to teaching history and social studies to high school students with learning differences.</li><li>Educational trends and best practices for curriculum development and instructional strategies for high school history and social studies programming.</li><li>Academic, social, and behavioral characteristics of high school students.</li><li>Effective classroom management techniques.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>Ability to:</strong></div><ul><li>Plan, organize, develop, and effectively deliver a comprehensive history and social studies curriculum. </li><li>Construct an inclusive and culturally responsive classroom that provides an effective and stimulating learning experience for students with learning differences. </li><li>Effectively assess the educational needs of each student, and utilize innovative strategies to enhance student success.</li><li>Review, analyze, evaluate, and communicate students’ academic, social, and emotional growth with school counselors and students’ families. </li><li>Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues using clear and open communication. </li><li>Thrive in a tight-knit community while working with students, families, and staff with diverse ethnicities, racial identities, sexual orientations, gender expression, religions, ages, and abilities.</li><li>Demonstrate an optimistic attitude, resiliency, and a dedication to personal and professional growth.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>Certificates and Clearances:</strong></div><ul><li>A valid secondary teaching license from any state in the United States is preferred.</li><li>First Aid and CPR Certificate (can be acquired prior to the beginning of employment).</li><li>Criminal justice fingerprint and background clearance.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>Reporting:</strong></div><div>This position reports to the Principal of Edison High School.</div><div><br/></div><div><strong>Salary/Benefits/Start Date:</strong></div><ul><li>Competitive salary with full benefits. The individual is required to have extensive knowledge of third party processing, EpicCare and</p><p style="margin:0px">Epic Willow. This position will primarily work on VPV floors 3-7 but may be asked to work in an OHSU</p><p style="margin:0px">outpatient pharmacy when other team members are on leave.</p>

Function/Duties of Position:
<ul><li>Assists in all technical support activities relating to prior authorization requests and approvals.</li><li>In-charge of obtaining medication history of admitted patients age 65 and older and comprehensive understanding of medication reconciliation process.</li><li>Supports OHSU outpatient pharmacy program through activities such as prescription dispensing, patient outreach, specialty pharmacy enrollment, and refill reminders. </li><li>Provides medication assistance support to OHSU patients. Assists pharmacists in non-clinical activities, e.g. maintenance of Medication Assistance Program patient information. Receives and maintains medication assistance inventory.</li><li>Interacts with other health care team members and patients and displays a high level of customer service commitment</li><li>Triages incoming phone calls from pharmacy staff, patients, and providers</li><li>Understands billing systems (both internal and external third party) and prescription processing</li></ul>

Required Qualifications:
<ul><li>High School Diploma, active State of Oregon Pharmacy Technician License <strong>AND</strong></li><li>1 year of pharmacy work experience, or equivalent additional education; <strong>AND</strong></li><li>Certification from the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Health career Association. Certification must be maintained.</li></ul><p style="margin:0px"><strong>Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):</strong></p><ul><li>Must possess computer keyboarding skills. </li><li>Ability to read and understand medical-related terms.</li><li>Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical mathematics calculations.</li><li>Ability to establish priorities in workflow. </li><li>Good interpersonal communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work under supervision of diverse Pharmacists</li><li>Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation</li></ul>
