PRODUCTION SHIFT MANAGER 3RD SHIFTGENERAL SUMMARY:This position will manage and direct supervision of our further processing production operations. This position will ensure production meets objectives at a designed quality level consistent with the lowest cost while maintaining a safe work environment.BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Managing the further processing production operations of the plant.</li><li>Coordinating the production, maintenance, sanitation, quality, shipping and receiving areas.</li><li>Monitoring performance of each department to meet production efficiency, yield and quality goals.</li><li>Setting objectives and reviewing shift's performance versus objectives.</li><li>Encouraging subordinates to find ways to reduce cost.</li><li>Ensuring sanitation meets USDA standards.</li><li>Coordinating production and sanitation maintenance to meet daily needs.</li><li>Analyzing equipment on a daily basis and reviewing with maintenance superintendent.</li><li>Providing a clear sense of direction for supervisors to work toward and encourage teamwork to achieve goals.</li><li>Establishing challenging goals and standards fro each supervisor and encourage them to give their best effort.</li><li>Ensuring effective utilization of human resources by training subordinates, motivating consistent performances, appraising performance, recommending salary action and developing for potential promotion.</li><li>Monitoring operations to meet company policies, quality specifications, USDA and OSHA standards.</li><li>Conducting plant inspections to eliminate hazardous conditions.</li><li>Managing all aspects of operations to assure a safe working environment.</li><li>Taking immediate action to eliminate improper practices or hazardous conditions.</li></ul>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>5+ years experience in the poultry/food industry required with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.</li><li>Must have good leadership skills.</li><li>Must have the ability to interact with operational and processing management.</li><li>Must demonstrate critical thinking skills.</li><li>Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Must have the ability to organize and prioritize work.</li></ul>EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.EOE, including disability/vets

Pilgrim’s is seeking Superintendent for our Broadway, VA Fresh Foods facility.Purpose & Scope: Provides leadership for team members in specified area and shift. Has primary responsibility for the direction of the workforce to achieve all safety, quality and operational goals as set forth by facility management.  Production Superintendent will manage in a fresh plant environment managing all aspects of processing area, utilizing knowledge of processing technology, processing methods, procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment. This position reports to the Occupational Health Manager and assists by providing appropriate, compassionate, quality care to Partners for both occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries and documenting all care provided in a professional and effective manner. This position reports to the Occupational Health Manager and assists by providing appropriate, compassionate, quality care to Partners for both occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries and documenting all care provided in a professional and effective manner Duties include, but are not limited to: Primary duty is to provide routine and emergency medical care (within the scope of WV EMT –B Region 8 Protocols) to partners at the workplace. Adheres to health management protocols, medical directives, policies and procedures, and physician standing orders according to scope of practice while following guidelines indicated by Occupational Health Manual. Conducts tasks in a professional and effective manner and within legal, ethical, and moral standards of care. Adheres to HIPAA compliance of confidentiality of Partner's personal health information Establishes and maintains  good working relationships with employees Adheres to all state and federal regulations including OSHA, Worker's Compensation, etc. Works closely with TPA and area medical community in dealing with WV Workers Compensation claims Reports all Lost Time and Recordable injuries to Safety Manager and OHMKnows  location of medical equipment and manuals and will perform checks and calibrations of equipment as scheduled Must obtain certification in urine drug screen and breath alcohol collections. Performs Pre-Employment, Random,  Reasonable Suspicion & Safety Sensitive Random, DOT and Non- DOT drug and alcohol testing using appropriate forms Performs Post Offer medical assessments with  use of supporting forms Maintains Excel Spreadsheet to track work related injuries Accesses Internet & use PPC programs SharePoint Participates in health and safety teaching of  annual  Blood borne Pathogen training and monthly in services and training as required by OHM & PPC Notifies Occupational Health Manager  of any pertinent physical and emotional changes of symptoms presented by Partners Keeps department clean and orderly. Puts away med supply orders and re-stock supplies as needed. There are no supervisory duties associated with this job.  Partners must continually make the decision to follow instructions of the Occupational Health Manager, Safety Manager, and HR Manager to perform all job assignments within designated guidelines.  The person performing this task provides medical/first aid care within the scope of WVEMT-B Region 8 Protocols). Difficulty of Duties: Responsibility for Confidential Information:    Must keep all health information confidential in accordance with Company Policy and HIPPA Guidelines.Education : Must  maintain current WV EMT basic certification as well as a current CPR/ First Aid/ AED card .
