The position is responsible for: documentation and closing multifamily financing transactions made pursuant to Chapter 134 of the Connecticut General Statutes and under other programs administered by CHFA including, but not limited to, federal low-income housing tax credits, single-family loans closed in-house, group home and supportive housing loan closings, state and federal emergency mortgage assistance loans, and real estate owned sale transactions; preparation of legal documents, closing of loans, and resolution of general legal matters involving existing developments under CHFA's multifamily housing portfolio and under the state-sponsored multifamily housing portfolio; preparation of contracts, requests for proposals and request for qualifications; assisting with legislative matters; reviewing documents in response to freedom of information requests; and the provision of general legal support and assistance to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel or Senior Counsel, senior management, and to staff of all CHFA departments as may be required to attend to the daily business, operation and mission of CHFA. Provides legal assistance and support to General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel and/or Senior Counsel(s) with legal research, legal counsel, and the preparation of documentation regarding CHFA department requests, human resources matters, requests for proposals, and request for qualifications, contracts, structured finance matters, legislative matters, general CHFA governance, audit matters, single-family servicing matters, freedom of information matters, and general compliance or policy matters.
