Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.<br/><br/></div><ul><li>Provides clinical oral hygiene services including but not limited to dental prophylaxis, scaling, sealant application, fluoride application, x-rays, and dental impressions.<br/><br/></li><li>Conducts initial mouth screening, checks oral health history and conducts oral cancer screenings.<br/><br/></li><li>Maintains patient documentation, paper charts and electronic dental records. Records patient-hygienist transactions so that the dental record accurately reflects the nature of the contact and the care or treatment provided.<br/><br/></li><li>Provides preventative oral health education to patients either in person or virtually.<br/><br/></li><li>Assists the Dentist with appropriate treatments and performs independent procedures as delegated and directed by a dentist in accordance with state regulations and law.<br/><br/></li><li>Sterilizes dental equipment in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.<br/> <br/></li><li>Maintains the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Log.</li></ul></div><b>Job Requirements</b><div><strong>JOB REQUIREMENTS for Dental Hygienist</strong><br/>Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:<div><br/></div><div><div><ol><li>Possession of a Delaware Dental Hygienist License or eligibility for a Delaware license. </li><li>Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving). </li></ol></div><div><br/></div></div></div><b>Additional Posting Information</b><div><p><strong>This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.</strong></p><p><strong>This posting may be closed on or before 11/10/2026 upon filling the vacant position(s).</strong></p></div><b>Conditions of Hire</b><div><p>Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
