<div><strong>Bilingual Paralegal (Eng/Sp) (Inner SE Portland)<br/></strong><br/></div><div>Our office is highly collaborative. We value clear communication and light-heartedness (to the extent possible, of course!) within an often intensive and demanding environment. We appreciate and value our clients – their abilities and life experiences – and aim to provide excellent client care and communication. <br/><br/></div><div>The ideal candidate will bring Spanish language fluency and be comfortable acting on guidance. Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to prioritize effectively and adapt to the rapidly changing legal landscape. This position will also include increasing independence and responsibility over time, with commensurate pay adjustments. Optimally, the successful candidate will bring interest in a long-term relationship with OIG and our clients. <br/><br/></div><div><strong>Minimum Qualifications: </strong></div><ul><li>Must have 3+ years of experience working in an immigration legal setting, the majority of that as a paralegal.</li><li>Must be fluent in speaking, writing and communicating in Spanish.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to pay strict attention to detail.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to be flexible, agile, and resilient in addressing expected and unexpected situations.</li><li>Ability to exercise sound judgment.</li><li>Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with demonstrated ability to listen to understand and manage difficult conversations.</li><li>Ability to maintain professional demeanor and a high level of customer service for a potentially demanding customer base in a variety of situations and with various interest groups or individuals with conflicting and competing needs, desires, and demands.</li><li>Commitment to the concept and practice of teamwork and cross-responsibility within the office.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>Preferred Qualifications: </strong></div><ul><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 particular emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook and Sharepoint.</li><li>Knowledge of database programs helpful but not required. </li><li>Effective and productive use of time management practices, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and working in a fast-paced, detail-driven, service-oriented environment.</li><li>Strong oral communication skills using in-person and virtual formats.</li><li>Interest in learning and exploring tools and technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.</li><li>Experience formatting filings with the federal court and using their efiling portal.</li><li>Experience in removal defense, including filing with the immigration court. </li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities: </strong></div><ul><li>Ability and desire to work in-office.
