Assists individuals in developing natural supports to increase their success in community integration and community inclusion, including but not limited to the use of public transportation, linkage to education opportunities, employment, housing of the persons choosing, recreation, leisure, religion/ spirituality, parenting, etc. Under Supervision, a Peer Specialist empowers clients to explore new options, resources, feelings, relationships and supports individuals by providing hope, encouragement, support, self-determination, and connections to the community.
