Knowledge of the principles, systems, procedures, and methods of fire protection and prevention, business and community safety, construction methods, and/or environmental preservation; fire, life safety, and construction codes and regulations; methods of preparing written communications for target groups such as businesses of all sizes and types, community groups, and counterparts in City departments. Ability to interpret codes and regulations and explain the codes and regulations to the public; read building plans and maps and follow directions; work cooperatively with other employees and the public; maintain records and prepare reports, and communicate effectively across all age groups and professions.
