cc) Possess a current certification as a Building Inspector in Miami-Dade County and hold a personal certificate as a General Contractor issued by the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board, provided the number of the license shall be less than #7837 (dd) Possess a current license from the State of Florida as a Registered Architect or Engineer and one year of roofing experience. To be certified in the category of Building Inspector (Residential Roofing) candidates shall have at least one of the following: (aa) Possess a current roofing contractor certificate issued by: (1) The Miami-Dade County Construction Trades Qualifying Board and not less than one-year field experience; or (2) The Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board and not less than one year of field experience.

Responsibilities include inspecting construction in progress and upon completion, advising contractors on necessary changes, engaging in routine and periodic patrols to detect violations, issuing violation notices, investigating complaints of defective installations and signing permits granting final County approval for completed work. All applicants must be eligible for certification by the Miami-Dade County Board of Rules and Appeals as specified in Chapter 8 of the Code of Miami-Dade County and the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board as specified in Chapter 468, Florida Statutes.
