Housekeeping Duties to Include: (a) Stock the laboratory; (b) Dispose of biohazardous waste; (c) Clean laboratory glassware; (d) Stock bleach bottles daily; (e) Perform some periodic maintenance (eye wash, shower, etc.); (ff)Stock phlebotomy trays and carts; (g) Prepare collection kits as needed for Clinic and ER; (h) Process incoming supplies, stock by rotation of oldest first and reconcile packing slips with purchase orders; (i) Inspect supplies for expiration dates; (j) Ensure all reference lab collection supplies are adequately stocked and in long dating; (k) Other housekeeping duties as assigned. The phlebotomist must demonstrate: (a) Superior customer service skills, excellent communication skills, good computer skills and the use of basic office equipment; (b) Ability to be a team player with effective interpersonal skills; (c) Ability to remain focused and productive in stressful situations, ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with frustrated patients, families, staff, co-workers and providers; (d) Ability to instruct patients in a professional and sensitive manner to properly collect non-blood samples (e.g.
