Overview:
BerryDunn’s Technology Assurance Services Practice is seeking an Internal Controls Audit Intern for the Summer of 2026. Our Technology Assurance team works with clients to provide System and Organization Controls (SOC) examinations compliance assessments, internal controls, and IT security assessments. We spend time understanding our clients’ goals, compliance needs, operations, and systems in order to provide a thorough audit report. Our small team environment allows for one-on-one attention that translates to rapid growth and development for new team members. As part of a team that provides services to a wide variety of clients, you will have the opportunity to focus on client industries that appeal to you.  We provide services to clients in Public Gaming and Lotteries, Third-Party Administrators, Insurance Providers, Retirement Plan Administrators, and Technical Service Organizations. Our clients are located throughout the United States with an ever-expanding international presence. This position is based out of our Portland, ME headquarters. An internship at BerryDunn allows you to gain experience alongside talented, knowledgeable individuals who are focused on development. You Will:
<ul><li>Learn and work with a variety of industry best practice frameworks (NIST, ISO, etc.) by providing service to a number of clients in different verticals</li><li>Learn how to assist the engagement lead with the following tasks: <ul><li>Planning and preparing for engagements </li><li>Monitoring and tracking project action items, issues, risks, and decisions </li></ul></li><li>Perform testing during SOC examinations </li><li>Work in a fast-paced environment alongside skilled professionals</li><li>Participate in staff/team meetings</li></ul>

You Have:
<ul><li>Currently enrolled as a student in a Finance, Accounting, Information Systems,  Information Security, Information Technology or Security and Risk Analysis Accounting or related business program</li><li>Available to work a minimum 40 hours per week during the summer session</li><li>Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future</li><li>Desire to obtain Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) Certification</li><li>Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)</li></ul>What We Expect from You:<ul><li>Flexibility: willing to take on various tasks and challenges with a positive attitude.</li><li>Willingness to Learn: seek advice and demonstrate an eagerness to learn and grow.</li><li>Ambition: show a strong desire to develop your skills and contribute to the team.</li></ul>Our ideal candidate demonstrates a drive to learn about internal controls and have a natural curiosity for how things work.

Compensation Details:
The hourly rate for this role is $30 per hour. This rate range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting.
