This internship provides hands-on experience in agribusiness accounting and financial reporting related to agricultural production and distribution.</p><p>This position is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Agribusiness, or a related field who is interested in applying accounting principles within a production-based environment.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Essential Functions</strong><br/><br/><em>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</em></p><ol><li>Support accounts receivable tracking, invoicing, and customer payment reconciliation.</li><li>Help maintain accurate vendor and customer records.</li><li>Assist with resolving discrepancies in billing or payments.</li><li>Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.</li><li>Maintain organized financial documentation and electronic filing systems.</li><li>Help prepare documentation for audits or internal reviews.</li><li>Compile financial data for management reports.</li></ol><p> </p><p><strong>Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>Basic knowledge of accounting principles</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data organization.</li><li>Familiarity with accounting software Sage preferred.</li><li>Understanding of financial statements and general ledger structure.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy.</li><li>Strong time management and organizational skills.</li><li>Interest in agribusiness financial operations</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Supervisory Responsibility</strong></p><p>This position requires no supervisory responsibility.<strong></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p><p>This job operates in a professional office and, in some cases, from a remote offsite location. This position requires good manual dexterity and coordination with the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Position Type and Expected Hours of Work</strong></p><p>This is an internship position designed for the summer semester, 10-12 weeks is the expected duration.
