Duties and Responsibilities: • Offer in-person and virtual assistance, advocacy, and education to participants and their caregivers, addressing enrollment, benefits, coverage, and access procedures. • Assist with resolving quality of care and quality of life concerns through skilled negotiation and by providing support for grievances and appeals. • Conduct outreach and educational presentations tailored for families, caregivers, and various stakeholders. • Develop and distribute outreach materials such as templates, posters, factsheets, and videos for participant education. • Maintain effective communication with managed care organizations and participate in stakeholder advisory committees. • Ensure compliance with confidentiality standards and maintain up-to-date records in relevant databases. • Provide training to other advocates and develop consumer-focused materials. • Analyze systemic challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and contribute to strategic solutions. • Research and assist in report preparation as required. Required Skills: • Advanced knowledge of healthcare coverage, IDD services, and eligibility guidelines. • Exceptional advocacy, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills. • Proficiency in basic office software and familiarity with relevant healthcare policies and resources. • Ability to manage time effectively to balance outreach, case management, and administrative responsibilities. • Research and analytical skills, with an understanding of relevant laws and policies. Desired Skills: • Experience with IDD communities and knowledge of associated services. • Personal experience with disabilities or direct advocacy is a plus. • Bilingual capabilities and driving experience are advantageous.
