The Intern will work alongside a small team of engineers, designers, and technicians supporting various customer product development programs in both the Internal Combustion and EV Popropulsion sectors. The ideal candidate must show a capacity to quickly assimilate and understand the implications of new developments and be ready to respond appropriately to situations as they evolve. This position is a paid internship and is located in Allen Park, MI. As a Powertrain Product Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for:<ul><li>Provide a supporting role for a variety of customer based automotive engineering and testing projects while developing skills to successfully take the project to completion</li><li>Assist with coordinating internal support activities which include hardware development and testing, machine shop, engine build, fabrication and garage services</li><li>Carry out engine as well as powertrain systems hardware testing and support related program activities (test setup, implementation of data acquisition and reporting systems, data review, post-test analysis, etc.)</li><li>Support component and system design activities as needed</li><li>Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations as part of documentation for program reviews</li><li>Assist program engineers to diagnose hardware issues and verify proper functionality</li><li>Manage inventory of engine and powertrain components along with related test hardware</li><li>Seek and employ continuous improvement strategies for increased quality and through-put</li><li>Assist with customer correspondences</li><li>Participate in peer design reviews</li><li>Assist project leaders by documenting and publishing peer design review meeting notes</li></ul>To be considered as a Powertrain Product Engineering Intern, you will need:<ul><li>Applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR</li><li>Must have a minimum sophomore standing</li><li>Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, or automotive engineering</li><li>Must be available for the summer of 2026 and be able to work a 40 hour work week onsite Monday through Friday</li><li>Strong MS Excel experience</li><li>Must have a valid driver’s license</li><li>Willingness to travel and/or work overtime upon request</li><li>A strong desire to learn and execute base engine/vehicle testing and systems integration</li><li>Must have a hands-on automotive background with a desire to work with engines and powertrain hardware</li><li>Ability to perform effectively in a team environment with customers, engineers, designers, lab technicians, mechanics, machinists and engine builders</li><li>Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills</li><li>Must be self-motivated and possess rapid problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously</li></ul>A successful candidate may also have:<ul><li>Previous experience with hardware design and validation testing (previous employment, student design projects, etc.</li><li>Formula SAE/Baja or other automotive competition experience</li><li>Proficiency with CAD drafting software (SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.)</li></ul>To apply, please visit the Roush careers page by clicking on this link: <a href="https://jobs.roush.com/us/en/" rel="nofollow">https://jobs.roush.com/us/en</a>/Our Part-Time benefits include: Earned sick time and 401K.Visit our website:  <a href="http://www.roush.com" rel="nofollow">www.roush.com</a>Like us on Facebook: <a href="http://www.facebook.com/RoushCareers" rel="nofollow">www.facebook.com/RoushCareers</a>Roush is an EO employer – Veterans/Disabled and other protected categoriesIf you need a reasonable accommodation for our employment application process due to disability, please contact Roush Talent Acquisition at 734-779-7087.Powered by JazzHR

Determines best solution to resolve technical problems</li><li>Responds to IT tickets.
