This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, working alongside world-class engineers on projects that push the boundaries of technology.Qualified applicants may be reviewed by one or more of the following teams:Electrical<ul><li>xAI is looking for Interns who are passionate about advancing human scientific discovery. This position will assist in analyzing electrical systems of high-capacity power distribution (PDUs), UPS systems, and cooling units. Hands-on experience assisting to analyze power needs based on current and project IT loads, keeping an eye for efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical plans with mechanical designs, ensuring seamless operation of AI compute hardware. We encourage you to bring your ideas to the table to optimize efficiency and cost-reduction. All interns are expected to keep documentation of design processes, test results, and project updates to maintain clear communication with the engineering team.</li></ul>Civil <ul><li>xAI is seeking Civil Engineering Interns passionate about building resilient infrastructure to support massive AI compute demands. This position will assist in analyzing and designing civil site elements for data center campuses and supporting power generation buildings, with a focus on land development, site grading, stormwater management, hydrology & hydraulics (H&H), foundation systems, and utility integration to ensure high reliability, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency. </li></ul><h3>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</h3><ul><li>Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field</li><li>Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit) and basic engineering analysis tools</li><li>Understanding of datacenter electrical systems such as transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems. (electrical)</li><li>Prior experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems, SQL Databases, Python, or HTML is a plus (controls) </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a high-impact, technical environment</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate ideas clearly</li><li>Passion for xAI's mission to advance human scientific discovery through AI</li><li>Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 pounds during testing or installation tasks</li><li>Comfort working in a data center environment, including occasional exposure to noise and temperature variations</li></ul><h3>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</h3><ul><li>Able to work full time, onsite for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2026</li><li>Able to provide own transportation for positions in Memphis, TN and Southaven, MS</li></ul><div class="content-conclusion">xAI is an equal opportunity employer. The Opportunity:
The Director, IT Operations is responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of all core technology systems supporting the organization’s business operations, training facilities, and game-day environments. This role leads IT operations, infrastructure, and end-user support, ensuring 24/7 availability for mission-critical systems and liaises with our networking team to connect our IT capabilities across the corporate environment and the sports and entertainment venue(s). This leader plays a central role, along with our enterprise technology and cybersecurity teams, in directing and managing our IT resources to both further business goals and to build the brand of the IT function within the organization.

In This Role You Will:
IT Operations Leadership<ul><li style="color:black">Lead day-to-day IT operations across corporate offices and arena.</li><li style="color:black">Manage and mentor infrastructure, network, and service desk teams.</li><li style="color:black">Establish and enforce IT service management practices (ITIL or equivalent).</li><li style="color:black">Own incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.</li></ul>Infrastructure & Systems Management<ul><li style="color:black">Oversee on-premises and cloud infrastructure (servers, storage, virtualization, backups).</li><li style="color:black">Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for business- and game-critical systems.</li><li style="color:black">Lead capacity planning and infrastructure modernization initiatives.</li><li style="color:black">Manage endpoint management, identity systems, and collaboration platforms.</li></ul>Network & Connectivity<ul><li style="color:black">Collaborate on redundancy and failover planning for game-day and broadcast operations.</li><li style="color:black">Partner with Networking team and Broadcast team on event readiness.</li></ul>Service Desk & End-User Experience<ul><li style="color:black">Deliver a high-quality IT support experience for executives, staff, coaches, and players.</li><li style="color:black">Define SLAs and performance metrics for support services.</li><li style="color:black">Oversee IT asset lifecycle management, procurement, and inventory control.</li></ul>Vendor & Budget Management<ul><li style="color:black">Manage relationships with MSPs, telecom providers, hardware/software vendors.</li><li style="color:black">Own IT operations budget, forecasting, and cost optimization.</li><li style="color:black">Negotiate contracts and ensure vendor accountability.</li></ul>Security & Compliance Partnership<ul><li style="color:black">Partner with the SVP, Business Administration and the cybersecurity team to implement security best practices.</li><li style="color:black">Ensure infrastructure complies with organizational security and data privacy policies.</li><li style="color:black">Support audits, vulnerability remediation, and access controls.</li></ul>Game-Day & Event Readiness<ul><li style="color:black">Participate in pre-event readiness planning and post-event reviews when requested.</li><li style="color:black">Ensure staffing, monitoring, and contingency plans are in place for live events.</li></ul>Leadership & Collaboration<ul><li style="color:black">Act as a trusted advisor to the SVP, Business Administration on operational technology needs.</li><li style="color:black">Collaborate with networking, enterprise technology, and cybersecurity leaders.</li><li style="color:black">Communicate clearly with executives during incidents or outages.</li><li style="color:black">Be a person who enjoys people and contributing to the professional development of others.</li><li style="color:black">Other duties as assigned by SVP, Business Administration.</li></ul>

The Experience You Will Bring:
