Veterinary Internship (ER), Mount Laurel Animal Hospital Dvm LaunchVeterinary Internship (ER), Mount Laurel Animal HospitalMount Laurel, New JerseyProgram Description: • Duration: 13 months • Objective: To develop well-rounded, confident emergency veterinarians through comprehensive clinical exposure and mentorship • Shift Structure: The schedule is divided evenly among four shift type, daytime ER, overnight ER, hospitalist, and specialty block • Hours: Three consecutive 12-hour shifts per week, with an additional surgery day during hospitalist and daytime ER rotations (average 42 hours/week) • Active participation in ER departmental meetings, Fellow Rounds, lectures, journal clubs, and Morbidity & Mortality rounds • Mentorship: One-on-one mentorship on every case, with interns maintaining primary case responsibility • Species Exposure: Interns manage canine, feline, and exotic emergency cases. Responsibilities: • Manage multiple hospitalized and incoming emergency cases under supervision • Perform spays, neuters, and basic soft tissue surgeries under guided mentorship • Participate in patient care rounds and case discussions • Collaborate with experienced ER veterinarians, specialists, and support staff • Attend hospital-provided continuing education sessions and training workshops • Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to high-quality patient care.
