Impact Electronic Solutions is a multi-site, family of companies that provides full-service electronics design and manufacturing services. Our design group in Rhode Island specializes in high-end medical device design as well as consumer devices, manufacturing systems, laboratory devices and research. We are a contract design firm with a permanent staff of engineers who act as entire electronics and software group for manufacturers or compliment their existing team. Some areas of our expertise are listed below.If you have experience in some of these areas and/or are interested in exploring any of these areas, you would fit in well with our team!<ul><li>Sensitive Analog Signal Acquisition</li><li>High-Speed Digital Devices</li><li>High-Voltage/High-Current Systems</li><li>Sensor Integration (Various Types)</li><li>Microcontroller and FPGA Expertise</li><li>Custom PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Design</li><li>RF Design (Radio Frequency)</li><li>Wireless Power</li><li>Mixed-Signal Systems</li><li>Design for Manufacturing (DFM)</li><li>Cost-Effective Solutions</li><li>Prototyping and Rapid Development</li><li>Low-Power Electronics</li><li>Embedded Systems</li><li>EMC Compliance</li><li>Product Safety and Compliance</li></ul>Basic Qualifications:<ul><li>BS/MS Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field from ABET accredited program.</li><li>Occasional travel (< 10%) may be required.</li></ul>Required Experience:<ul><li>Strong fundamentals in circuits, electronics, and digital logic</li><li>Comfortable working hands-on with prototype hardware</li><li>Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and domains quickly</li></ul>Preferred Experience: Additional experience in any of these areas is a bonus, but not strictly required for consideration.<ul><li>Experience with PCB design tools (Altium preferred, but any tool is beneficial)</li><li>Internship, co-op, senior design project, or personal electronics projects</li><li>Familiarity with regulatory standards (medical or other industries)</li><li>Experience using lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, DMM, etc.)</li><li>Basic soldering or hardware rework experience</li><li>Embedded firmware literacy and development experience</li><li>Experience with FPGA development.</li><li>Experience working with interdisciplinary teams of firmware, software and mechanical engineers.</li></ul>Skills:<ul><li>Curiosity and willingness to learn</li><li>Strong problem-solving mindset</li><li>Clear technical communication</li><li>Ability to ask good questions, and willingness to ask for help</li><li>Organized approach to design and debugging</li><li>Comfort working in small, fast-moving teams</li><li>Ability to take ownership of tasks and follow them through</li><li>Ability to efficiently and effectively learn how to utilize new technologies</li><li>Ability to work independently, but contribute to team collaborations and outputs.</li></ul> Location: Onsite - Cranston, Rhode Island
