Inventory Specialists are responsible for ensuring the availability of parts for the maintenance department (Corporate Inventory Specialists are responsible for multiple departments) in a cost-effective manner, while maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies and procedures. This position maintains records on a computerized system and is responsible for maintaining proper inventory to ensure demands are met in the most efficient manner possible.

Come join our team! Inventory Specialists are responsible for ensuring the availability of parts for the maintenance department (Corporate Inventory Specialists are responsible for multiple departments) in a cost-effective manner, while maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies and procedures. This position maintains records on a computerized system and is responsible for maintaining proper inventory to ensure demands are met in the most efficient manner possible.  Responsibilities of Position:<ul><li>Issue necessary replacement parts to mechanics</li><li>Receive and unpack parts, verifying accuracy of shipment from vendor including parts' numbers, quantities, and pricing</li><li>Receive, tag, stock, and disburse parts to technicians or outlying locations according to policies/procedures</li><li>Prepare purchase orders for purchases of parts and equipment</li><li>Perform weekly cycle counts and conduct physical inventory audits</li><li>Investigate and reconcile inventory reports</li><li>Prepare and process warranty claims</li><li>Return parts and cores according to policy and procedure and track credits accordingly</li><li>Complete inventory information and present it to management for efficient decision-making, which may involve restocking</li><li>Process and maintain outbound deliveries electronically</li><li>Drive a company vehicle on daily/weekly routes to outlying locations as needed</li><li>Maintain a professional work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers and management</li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the stock room; perform routine housekeeping duties in the parts room, shop, and work area</li><li>**Corporate Inventory Specialists will process transfer purchase orders issuing necessary replacement parts to outlying locations relieving them from main inventory</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned</li></ul> Supervisory Responsibility:<ul><li>This position will not manage employees</li></ul> Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:<ul><li>Intermediate Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel (including statistics and pivot tables a plus), & Word</li><li>Ability to learn and maintain a solid understanding of inventory-related best practices</li><li>Ability to effectively utilize parts manuals and manufacturer build sheets</li><li>Computer proficiency with good data-entry skills</li></ul> Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:<ul><li>Heavy-duty truck parts experience preferred</li><li>1-2 years office experience preferred</li><li>Basic knowledge of vehicle parts, maintenance, and repair preferred</li><li>**Corporate Role- It is preferred to have a valid DOT Medical Card or the ability to obtain one within the first 90 days of employment</li></ul> Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:<ul><li>Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20 lbs</li><li>Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 35 lbs</li><li>Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbs</li><li>Occasionally working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions</li><li>Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter</li><li>Occasionally stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling</li><li>Rarely climbing and/or balancing</li><li>Frequently sitting/standing/walking</li></ul> Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:<ul><li>No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years</li><li>Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years</li><li>Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas</li><li>Exposure to residential and commercial waste</li><li>Ability to travel between offices, as required</li><li>Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed</li><li>Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays</li><li>Legally eligible to work in the United States</li><li>Valid driver’s license (if applicable)</li><li>Must successfully complete pre-employment testing</li><li>Must be able to read and speak the English language</li></ul> This job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required.
