Position Location: Onsite, local to Philadelphia Position Clearance: Public Trust or Must be able to obtain one.  Position Responsibilities: Monitors, controls, and isolates problems in a data communications network. Monitors all network activity. Activates/deactivates network lines according to established schedules. Performs first- and/or second-level problem determination (first level is help desk). Interfaces with users and/or network vendors.<ul><li>Installs and maintains network equipment, including switches, hubs, and UPSs.</li><li>Performs site network proposal walk throughs, creates and proofs network plant proposals for participating sites utilizing software that creates graphical representations of communications networks.</li><li>Maintains and repairs the network infrastructure like operating systems, routers and other network related components.</li><li>Troubleshoots and resolves network problems as needed to ensure maximum availability, reliability and efficiency.</li><li>Provides on-site end-user training on system operation, maintenance and limited troubleshooting.</li></ul>Position QualificationsHigh School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience)  Required Skills and Experience<ul><li>Clearance Required: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust</li></ul> #M2 Ref: #850-Rockville (ALTA IT)
