Custodian / Janitor – Job #50 40 Hours Per Week - $20 per hour Location: Litchfield, CT 06759 About This Position: CJR is seeking a dedicated Custodian / Janitor to join our team in Litchfield. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our residential facilities, buildings, and grounds. Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Perform daily cleaning of residential cottages, common areas, and office spaces.</li><li>Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and maintain clean floors.</li><li>Collect and empty trash and recycling.</li><li>Service, disinfect, and restock restrooms, showers, and lavatories.</li><li>Dust furniture, fixtures, walls, machinery, and equipment; polish metal fixtures as needed.</li><li>Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors to ensure visibility and safety.</li><li>Follow detailed cleaning schedules and quality control standards; complete tasks efficiently and thoroughly.</li><li>Conduct routine building inspections and report any damages or non-functioning equipment promptly.</li><li>Perform outdoor maintenance such as litter pickup, sweeping steps, and sidewalks.</li><li>Support snow removal activities, including shoveling and spreading salt.</li><li>Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure optimal operation of facilities and equipment.</li><li>Learn and assist with other maintenance tasks as needed.</li><li>Exhibit professionalism, respect, and effective communication when serving staff and residents from diverse backgrounds.</li><li>Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and a positive attitude in a collaborative environment.</li><li>Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.</li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory or management staff.</li></ul> Schedule and Rate of Pay:<ul><li>Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM</li><li>Total Hours: 40 hours per week</li><li>Wage: $20.00 per hour</li><li>Overtime: Eligible for time-and-a-half pay as applicable</li></ul> Qualifications and Requirements:<ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent - Required</li><li>Minimum 2 years of experience in general building maintenance - Required</li><li>Ability to safely operate various maintenance equipment - Required</li><li>Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. - Required</li><li>Valid driver’s license - Required</li><li>Ability to read and comprehend shop manuals and maintenance instructions</li><li>Strong time management and organizational skills</li></ul> Full-Time Benefits: <img alt="" height="405" src="https://assets.jazz.co/customers/customer_20231127160432_U557MSXGVWVQVULL/layout/20260420170737-image-20260420130737-1.emf" width="624"/> About CJR: A career at CJR is focused on working to ensure that every young person has an opportunity to thrive! Job Description:
<hr/>Part Time<ul><li>$16.94 per hour</li><li>Morning</li><li>Weekly pay</li></ul>Diversified Maintenance is hiring a Janitor. The Janitor position is responsible for performing all-purpose cleaning and preservation of assigned area inside a particular building or multiple client sites. Exact tasks of janitorial crew are not definite, consequently, must be flexible in performing assigned duties per client’s specifications. RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Maintain and clean all floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming</li><li>Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and other objects</li><li>Clean, monitor and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entrance areas</li><li>Empty trash cans for proper disposal; use of compactor for certain materials</li><li>Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and equipment</li><li>Spot clean carpets; assist in carpet extractions and shampooing</li><li>Replenish paper products and sanitary supplies</li><li>Follow housekeeping schedule</li><li>Occasionally use heavy cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers</li><li>Other duties as assigned, as required by the scope of work or customer needs</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of six (6) months of experience in a janitorial type position</li><li>On the job training will be provided</li><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Ability to follow instructions effectively</li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):<ul><li>Prior cleaning or janitorial experience</li><li>Familiarity with custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards</li><li>Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and waxing</li><li>Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance</li></ul>
