The IT assists all laboratory areas in the delivery of quality laboratory products and services with primary focus on the preanalytical and post analytical phases of laboratory services while functioning as the primary advocate for the customer. This position requires general knowledge of testing performed in all laboratory areas and the exercise of independent judgement and responsibility with minimal supervision by the director or manager. A bachelor's degree with the minimum number of required credit hours in the sciences AND have received appropriate clinical education in an accredited Clinical Laboratory Technology program. This role may require access to information considered sensitive to Albany Medical Center, its patients, affiliates, and partners, including but not limited to HIPAA Protected Health Information and other information regulated by Federal and New York State statutes. Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.·Provides laboratory customer service to include request for add-ons, specimen collection information, phlebotomy requests, result inquiry, etc. Summary: Prepares specimens for analysis by registering and accessioning orders via Laboratory Information Systems (clinical lab and/or anatomic pathology), verifying specimen acceptability. Summary: The level II Clinical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing, evaluating, and reporting of technical laboratory procedures on patient specimens for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Responsible for managing the application portfolio and associated support staff, driving audit readiness and compliance, and ensuring systems are maintained in a validated and compliant state - with particular emphasis on data integrity and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements. This may include: at the direction of faculty, write or update lab procedures and manuals and provide training to instructors and TAs including equipment demonstrations for all MANE undergraduate instructional laboratories; set up and break down of lab equipment for each individual laboratory exercise; and as needed, manufacture or purchase laboratory consumables such as test specimen, replacement parts, and materials. Job Summary: The Technical Manager is responsible for managing the Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering (MANE) Department's research and teaching laboratory safety program, strategic planning for MANE's instructional and research labs and supervising technical staff. li>Confer with principal investigator to review work assignments and plans for research experiments, make minor modifications to existing laboratory procedures and techniques to meet the needs of the particular experiment as required. This position includes a variety of technical duties in conducting biochemical, molecular biological, behavioral and immunological research laboratory tests, experiments and determinations in support of Albany Medical College research operations.
