KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Records test results and assembles data of water quality, biological sampling and mosquito numbers and species composition for interpretation by technical supervisors; Identifies non-target organisms, adult and larval mosquitoes, and various stages and species of ticks by microscope or other means; Performs chemical tests of water to determine the presence of industrial waste; Performs tests on bituminous specimens, soils, concrete etc. Performs microbiological and biological testing to identify total and fecal coliform bacteria concentration at various locations of the wastewater effluence; Records information on pollutant sources by monitoring and testing toxic materials in wastewater; Operates a variety of physical and chemical testing apparatus; Assists in the testing of new products and/or procedures; Sets up, breaks down and cleans test apparatus.
