The inspector observes construction, verifies conformance with the contract documents and approved requirements, maintains accurate daily records, coordinates testing and survey needs, measures installed quantities, and communicates developing issues early enough for the project team to respond. Unless expressly delegated, the inspector does not modify the contract, accept nonconforming work, direct contractor means and methods, authorize extra work, approve payment, grant time, or commit the Owner or employer to cost or schedule changes.
