For GS-11: You qualify at the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in Federal service Performing law enforcement duties to include: making arrests; conducting frisks and searches incident to arrest; applying handcuffs; and, experience in the application of use of force by utilizing defensive tactics and/or intermediate weapons to include baton and/or OC spray as a Field Training Officer (FTO) for new officers/agents. Typical duties include: Instructing courses that include such areas as: Arrest Procedures, Defensive Tactics, Ground Fighting Tactics, Intermediate Weapons (Baton, Oleoresin Capsicum and Electronic Control Device), Crowd Control Techniques, Close Quarters Combat, Basic First Aid, Trauma Management, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Basic Tactical Medicine Techniques, Officer Survival Afloat, and Physical Conditioning.
