Provide information and directions, lock and unlock buildings and rooms, assist motorists locked out of their vehicles, render first aid, monitor, and report and take necessary action in reference to severe weather or similar emergencies, direct vehicular traffic on and off campus when necessary, provide protective escorts for persons legally requesting the same, restrain when necessary, mentally or emotionally disturbed persons and other similar services. Hiring Range: College of DuPage reserves the right to hire and place a laterally hired certified sworn officer (hired laterally from current employment as a police officer in a regularly constituted police department or who left a prior department in "good standing" within 365 days prior to employment with the College of DuPage) up to step 3 on the wage scale.
