Description:JOB SUMMARYThe Environmental Services Technician, under the direction and supervision of the Housekeeping Manager, supports the housekeeping staff by performing routine and non-routine tasks such as trash removal, washing windows, cleaning common areas, cleaning carpets, and stripping and waxing floors. PAYPay rate for this position starts at $15.50/hr. and is commensurate with experience. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS<ul><li>Removes trash from main collection points and hauls it to the dumpsters; tears down cardboard boxes for disposal</li><li>Cleans trash rooms and utility rooms and other public spaces such as restrooms and kitchens; vacuums and washes floors; cleans sinks and countertops; wet mops floors; completes side duties according to check sheets</li><li>Supports the preventative maintenance cleaning programs with cleaning of carpets, stripping and waxing floors; cleans licensed areas carpeting immediately if soiled with bodily fluids in both resident rooms and public spaces</li><li>Assists housekeeping staff with moving furniture or cleaning out vacated units; assists Facilities team with various tasks as needed</li><li>Cleans and maintains environmental services equipment; reports damaged or unsafe equipment to the Lead or Housekeeping Manager</li><li>Performs all work in a safe manner, reporting safety hazards immediately; uses and stores all cleaning chemicals properly; displays wet floor signs at all times when wet mopping and removes wet floor signs after floor has dried</li><li>Is knowledgeable of emergency procedures and reports emergencies to Security as necessary</li><li>Maintains positive interaction with residents, guests, and other employees</li><li>Complies with all Williamsburg Landing policies and procedures including those addressing attendance, standards of conduct, dress, safety, and personal hygiene</li><li>Keeps uniform clean and neat; maintains infection control standards including proper hand washing, and use of hair nets and gloves</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li><li>Position is required to perform tasks in a pet-friendly environment</li></ul> QUALIFICATIONSAbility to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing; prior work experience in a similar environmental services environment is preferred; valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver's license Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to be pleasant, tactful, and courteous with residents; willingness to perform repetitive daily tasks; ability to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds; ability to climb steps ladders and reach overhead; ability to stoop, kneel, lean over, and climb stairs frequently throughout the work day; must possess exhibited initiative and good judgment; ability to use floor scrubbing, stripping and waxing equipment as well as carpet extracting equipment and supplies in a safe manner; Ability to work some weekend and holiday shifts; Ability to perform housekeeping duties in a pet friendly environment andunderstanding pet needs and behaviors, including cleaning households and common spaces where pets are present.Requirements: PIcd470f02ea63-31181-37306352
