Help coordinate and monitor the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program• Conduct infection surveillance and maintain accurate infection-related tracking and documentation• Identify, investigate, and report infection trends, clusters, outbreaks, and other concerns according to facility policy• Monitor compliance with hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, isolation precautions, environmental cleaning, and other infection prevention practices• Provide infection prevention education to employees during orientation and ongoing training• Collaborate with department managers, the Director of Nursing, medical providers, and leadership when implementing infection prevention measures• Review laboratory results, antibiotic use, infection reports, and other relevant clinical information• Support antibiotic stewardship efforts in collaboration with physicians, pharmacy personnel, and nursing leadership• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities related to wound care and infection prevention• Stay informed about current evidence-based wound care and infection prevention practices• Help maintain compliance with applicable CMS, CDC, OSHA, Missouri, and facility infection prevention requirements• Assist with infection prevention preparation and documentation for regulatory surveys and inspections. • Graduate of an approved practical or registered nursing program• Current, active, and unencumbered RN or LPN license in the State of Missouri• Current BLS/CPR certification• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control required• Wound care education, certification, or relevant experience strongly preferred• Experience with infection surveillance and infection prevention practices• Skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or memory care experience preferred• Knowledge of pressure injury prevention, wound staging, skin assessment, and treatment documentation• Strong clinical assessment, communication, teaching, and organizational skills• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on identified concerns• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing personnel, department leaders, residents, and families• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation• Professional and compassionate demeanor• Commitment to treating every resident with compassion, dignity, and respect.
