The role may involve care of ventilated patients, continuous intravenous sedation, vasoactive infusions, renal replacement therapies, cardiac and neurological critical care, transplant care, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, invasive monitoring, and complex postoperative patients. Interdisciplinary support includes intravenous therapy, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit-secretary services.
