Performs a broad range of skilled trades including carpentry, painting, masonry, metal work, tiling and related tasks; Participates in the maintenance and repair of buildings, structural components, doors, door frames, windows, floors, ceilings, walls, and roofs; Identifies problems, determines solutions and/or repair needs and performs necessary work; Repairs furniture and bleachers and installs partitions, shelves, doors, windows, floors, ceilings and walls; Installs sheetrock and paneling, plaster walls and finishes concrete; Updates buildings for new tenants; Assists with providing cost estimates for repairs, installations, maintenance and other trades as helper; Completes office moves and/or transport furniture to department offices; Orders and transports materials and supplies; Installs and repairs rain gutters and roofs; Removes and hauls trash, moves furniture and equipment; Performs related work as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: General knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, tools, terminology and safety precautions of building maintenance trades; General knowledge of the use and characteristics of common building materials; Skilled in the operation of various tools and equipment used in the trade; Ability to work from sketches, drawings, plans or specifications; Ability to follow oral and written instructions and maintain records; Ability to estimate needed materials and time required for various jobs; Ability to rig scaffolds.
