Actively participate in establishing and improving manufacturing processes procedures + Transacts production work orders through ERP · Follows all safety training and guidelines + Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or his/her designate _Fabrication Specific, if applicable:_ · Machining (grinding, lapping and polishing) of glass/silicon/ceramic materials on automated and manual equipment + CNC fabrication equipment operation and maintenance _Inspection & Packaging (I/P) Specific, if applicable:_ · Cleans parts prior to and following deposition of coatings or during other manufacturing steps using both hand cleaning and spin cleaning · Cleans and inspects glass and crystal parts and assemblies · Packages parts for shipment to customer · Loads and unloads complex parts into fixturing · Inspects parts and measures defect sizes against MIL specifications _Metrology Specific, if applicable:_ · Cleans parts prior to and following deposition of coatings or during other manufacturing steps using both hand cleaning and spin cleaning · Cleans and inspects glass and crystal parts and assemblies · Loads and unloads complex parts into fixturing · Utilizes interferometers, microscopes, and other industry equipment to measure parts _Coating Specific, if applicable:_ · Operates vacuum coating equipment to produce optical thin films · Loading and unloading of coating equipment · Cleans and maintains coating equipment · Calculates various parameters for coating runs from previously recorded data · Performs spectrophotometer scan and analysis · Troubleshoots vacuum systems. + Bend as is necessary for sitting, using computers, using the telephone, and computer mouse + Demonstrate eye-hand coordination + Operate testing and measuring equipment + Apply force to adjust and operate testing equipment, turn knobs and cranks + Manipulate fragile parts into and out of equipment + Grasp objects in order to turn, wipe, adjust instrumentation and safely use sharp instruments + Twist and turn wrists and forearms to perform inspection of optics and to operate microscopes and computer + Bend at the neck to perform inspection and testing of optics and related equipment + Exposure to minimal fumes from alcohol and acetone (used when cleaning coating equipment and optics).
