Examples of qualifying specialized experience must include: (1) Performing supervisory human resource responsibilities, including performance management, evaluation, counseling, training, awards, discipline, conflict resolution, position management, recruitment, hiring, and removal; (2) Planning and scheduling operations and maintenance activities such as preventive maintenance of heating and cooling systems, electrical troubleshooting and repairs, plumbing repairs, interior and exterior painting, word crafting/carpentry, pavement maintenance, masonry repairs, landscaping, turf maintenance, tree care, custodial, trash collection, transportation, vehicle fleet operations and maintenance, snow removal, storm recovery, and special event support; (3) Procuring and managing contracted services, including project development, estimating costs, reviewing project plans and specifications, evaluating contractor proposals, observing, and evaluating contracted work for conformance with plans and specifications, approving invoices, and tracking expenditures against available funds; (4) Developing a unit operating budget and managing the expenditure of funds. Performing maintenance or construction work, including estimating material and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects (such as construction or maintenance of brick, frame, structural steel, reinforced concrete, and other type structures ranging from one- or two-story buildings to larger structures), directing actual work operations, and maintaining appropriate contacts with the organization funding the project.
