This position requires attention to detail, knowledge of garment construction, and the ability to operate sewing machines.  A Stitcher is responsible for the construction and finishing of various 18th century costumes and accessories.  This is a non-guest facing role. A Skills Demonstration will be administered during the time of interview.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10px 0px;border:1px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16px;word-wrap:break-word"><h2 style="font-size:1em;margin:0px">Job Responsibilities</h2></div><div><ul><li>Garment Construction: Ability to complete a variety of period garments including but not limited to accessories, outerwear, menswear, ladies clothing, and children?s clothing.</li><li>Machine Usage: Ability to operate industrial sewing machines, a serger overlock machine, and a gravity iron, in addition to hand sewing in a neat manner.</li><li>Quality Control: Check completed garments for flaws and fix when necessary.  Able to self-check and critique work.</li><li>Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following safety procedures when operating machines and other tools.</li><li>Communication: Collaborate with sewing room staff and other departments to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner.</li></ul><p> </p><p>At Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done make a positive impact for our employees and for our customers. Ability to ask questions, be curious, and ready to learn.</li><li>Ability to do repetitive tasks</li><li>Basic math in conjunction with measuring fabric and cutting it correctly and adjusting yardage in inventory sheets</li><li>Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and in a team.</li><li>Fabric identification like cottons, linens, voile, silk, etc.</li><li>18th Century costume knowledge, focusing on 1760s-1790s or ability to research and replicate historic silhouettes</li><li>Previous experience in a costume shop or similar garment construction shop</li><li>Pattern-making or drafting, draping, or general crafting skills</li></ul><p> </p><p>This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
