Performs preventive maintenance by checking antifreeze, belts, batteries, brakes, lights, hydraulic systems, tires and safety equipment on a variety of diesel-powered heavy equipment, including bulldozers, motor graders, backhoes, tractors, boom trucks, dump trucks, and garbage trucks. MAJOR DUTIES: Repairs and maintains all emergency vehicles for the county, including repairing engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, brakes, air brakes, lights, and air-conditioning systems.
