Certifications, Licensures, and Examinations: Persons selected for this classification will be required to apply to the Maryland Board of Waterworks and Waste System Operators for a Water Distribution or a Wastewater Collection Class 2 minimum license, dependent on their work location and they will be required to obtain permanent certification within two (2) years of selection from the original date of hire as a Mechanic Trainee. Learns the operation, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater system equipment including pumps, electrical motors, valves, related mechanical equipment, and electrical control equipment.
