Principal Duties & Responsibilities: • Reads and interprets complex blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics to facilitate assembly and testing of custom products • May be required to modify components using common hand and power tools and identify non-conforming material • Assists in employee training, provides hands-on technical support in production, and interfaces with both Manufacturing and Design Engineering • Responsible for promoting a safe working environment • Responsible to review product structure, issue material, and close out projects using various computer-based programs • Work closely with interdisciplinary team of production planner, buyer, expeditor, assembly technicians, engineers, and managers to deliver high quality products on time • Provide feedback to Project Engineers regarding possible design changes, improvements, and alternatives • Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision on multiple simultaneous projects • Identify and participate in continuous improvement efforts. Knowledge, Skills, & Ability Required: • High level of problem solving ability, strong analytical skills, and ability to cope with mental and visual strain associated with some precision jobs • Ability to read blueprints, knowledge of machine shop practices, mechanical fits and tolerances, and ability to read, comprehend, and transmit complicated and technical details • Ability to do complex electrical wiring based on engineering drawings and schematics and use test and calibration equipment to troubleshoot systems • Ability to use hand tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, cordless drill, volt meter, soldering iron, etc.
