p>Using a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and patient-centered approach, the Medical Assistant supports quality patient outcomes, promotes continuity of care, and contributes to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services across primary care, behavioral health, psychiatry, addiction medicine, and other clinical service lines. Under the supervision of a licensed provider, the Medical Assistant assists with patient intake, vital signs, specimen collection, medication administration, documentation, care coordination, patient education, and other clinical support functions necessary to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.

Under the supervision of a licensed provider, the Medical Assistant assists with patient intake, vital signs, specimen collection, medication administration, documentation, care coordination, patient education, and other clinical support functions necessary to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.

This role supports providers and clinical staff in delivering exceptional care to patients with endocrine and metabolic conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, adrenal disorders, and other hormone-related conditions. Consistent with Medical Assistant education and under the direction of a licensed health care professional, the Certified Medical Assistant performs the following clinical responsibilities including but not limited to: a) Measures and records vital signs, growth parameters, medical histories, and signs and symptoms into the electronic health record.

Active Medical Assistant certification such as: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and proof of current membership from American Medical Technologists (AMT) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and proof of current membership from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and proof of current membership from National Health Career Association (NHA) (Test administered after 7/1/2017 only) National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and proof of current membership from National Certified Competency Testing (NCCT). Provides outstanding customer service and ensures a smooth patient flow process by providing services in admissions, financial counseling, billing, scheduling patients, paperwork completion, explanation of procedures, making of appointments, and conducts registration.

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit for long periods of time, is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb steps/stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; smell; manage stress as it relates to essential job functions. Duties include but are not limited to: assisting providers during preparation and provision of patient visit, interviewing patient and obtaining reason for visit, room preparation, specimen collection and processing, medication administration, documentation in electronic health record and patient discharge.
