Recognizes characteristics of developmental levels for infants, children, adolescent, adults, geriatrics, and the mentally disabled; Considers the developmental level of the patient when providing care; Demonstrates the ability to identify age/developmental specific data, the ability to recognize age/developmental specific response to treatment, provides appropriate data to other caregivers, and involves family and/or significant other in decision-making related to plan of care. This includes but is not limited to answering call lights, obtaining vital signs, ambulation, position and transferring needs, assisting with nourishment needs, personal hygiene, specimen collection, intake and output collection, elimination needs, checking blood glucose levels, and safe utilization of patient equipment (application, and documentation of restraints, trapeze, CPM, EPC, SPH etc.).
