Required skills include telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central line and peripherally inserted central catheter care, blood product administration, feeding tube care, heparin and intravenous insulin protocols, intravenous access management, phlebotomy, wound care, renal failure management, post-myocardial infarction care, post-cardiac angiogram care, pre- and post-hemodialysis management, procedural sedation monitoring, patient-controlled analgesia, and rapid response or code team participation. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
