Equivalent education consisting of 60 semester hours, including 24 semester hours of science comprising 6 hours of chemistry, 6 hours of biology, and 12 hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination, plus laboratory training that includes either completion of a clinical laboratory training program or three months of training in each specialty in which high-complexity testing is performed. Performs a wide variety of routine and special procedures following prescribed protocol and using manual or automated methods; calculates and reports results as established; consults with pathologist regarding difficult analysis or abnormal findings.
