Travel Nurse Across America is seeking a qualified Medical Technologist LAB needed for travel nurse assignment in Hammond, IN. The MT uses pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic phases of the examination, such as judgment, specimen acceptability and clinical condition to examine materials or specimens taken from the human body to provide information or materials in the diagnosis, prevention or treatment of a disease or the assessment of a medical condition as required by a physician. Routinely performs clinical analyses in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, microbiology, and urinalysis by initializing a variety of methodologies and instrumentation according to laboratory policies and procedures and in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements. Assist in preparing the Microbiology Laboratory for College of American Pathologists (CAP) inspections, ensuring readiness of documentation, workflows, and quality practices. Support quality management initiatives by conducting internal audits, documentation reviews, and quality assurance activities. li>Solid Tumor/Oncology molecular - manual qualitative nested PCR followed by sequencing to determine if mutations are present which may impact cancer treatment (KRAS, BRAF, EGFR); DNA extraction from tumor (colon cancer) and normal FFPE slides, multiplex PCR followed by capillary electrophoresis and fragment analysis to identify microsatellite instability (MSI) in the tumor. Molecular Biology: DNA, RNA, Protein isolation, purification and expression PCR, RT-PCR Cellular Biology: Cell culture, cell isolation Histology: Microscopy Immunology: Flow cytometry Other (please specify): Routine problem solving Routine decision making Complex problem solving Complex decision making Histology: Microscopy Administrative Maintains detailed records of results which may include collecting, extracting and entering data.
