Under the general supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse II/III, Correctional Facility (CF), Unit Supervisor (Safety), or Senior Psychiatric Technician (Safety), the Psychiatric Technician (PT) (Safety) provides a basic level of behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients in accordance with health care policies and procedures, Mental Health Program Guide requirements, and Title 22 regulations to patients in the Psychiatric Inpatient Program (PIP). Under valid authorization by a provider's order and the delegation and clinical direction of the RN, CF provides support to the PIP care team for daily PIP operations, and communicates effectively with patients, members of the PIP care team, and other members of the health care team.
