System Integration Engineer

System One is looking for a Plant Integration Engineer – Plant Layout/3D Model for a long-term contract role on-site in Bellevue, WA. Local candidates only. The successful candidate will be focused on the integration, oversight, and coordination of plant systems, structures, and components (SSCs) and development of conceptual plant 3D models to support our client’s product development.   In this role, you will support, and report to our client’s Plant Design Manager and support development of the plant BIM 3D model and conceptual commercial plant arrangements. The Plant Layout 3D model includes all major physical design elements of the Plant, including building structures, major equipment, piping and electrical runs, HVAC, and overall site arrangement. The successful candidate will support coordination between the design engineers working on systems, structures and components of the Plant, and the physical modeling teams to integrate ongoing engineering work and the Plant Layout 3D model.  The Plant Integration Engineer – Plant Layout/3D Model will also support conceptual plant 3D model development to respond to customer RFQs and RFIs.   Responsibilities  <ul><li>Provide integration leadership and oversight to geographically diverse team members to develop the 3D plant model and associated drawings</li><li>Support development of plant conceptual 3D model arrangements to respond to customer inquiries</li><li>Manage the strategy for smart phased population of the model over time, based on the active design phase and with the goal of minimizing rework</li><li>Work closely with system leads and partner organizations to coordinate integration between the Plant 3D model and project design products, including Solidworks models, component drawings and specifications, and system requirements</li><li>Work closely with our client’s partners or Architect/Engineer firm(s) to establish and control interfaces to plant systems and structures</li><li>Support development of documentation and relevant procedures for modeling work and plant design integration</li><li>Manage plant arrangement risks such as space envelope reservations, maintenance and testing requirements, construction considerations, maintenance pull space, etc.</li><li>Coordinate with other design groups and system lead engineers to ensure the design and model is consistent across interfacing systems</li><li>Provide technical support to plant model development and design integration using project collaboration and design tools.</li><li>Coordinate with our client’s commercial development team to develop design solutions for greenfield plant sites.</li></ul>   Key Qualifications and Skills   <ul><li>The successful candidate will display leadership skills by helping the project team strategically plan the progression of model updates as well as track key design inputs to the 3D model while formal design documents are being developed.</li><li>Minimum of 10 years of relevant design experience in providing oversight and/or development of 3D model for complex industrial design with preference for steam and power and/or nuclear design.</li><li>Must be proficient in 3D plant modeling tools, such as AVEVA, SmartPlant, or Revit; SmartPlant experience preferred.</li><li>The candidate must be team oriented, and able to work effectively with geographically distributed team members.</li><li>Experience in working with a 3D plant model in a hosting or workshare environment between multiple companies or sites is desirable.</li><li>Possess project management skills enabling coordination of model updates across multiple organizations to meet schedule needs, and to manage any subcontracts associated with modeling work.</li><li>Strong communication skills and be able to provide leadership in presenting 3D model content to senior management, the engineering team, customers etc.</li><li>Ability to work in a conceptual design environment effectively where design assumptions must be made.</li><li>Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.</li><li>Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.</li></ul>  Ref: #161-Managed Staffing Charlotte

System One is seeking a Safety Analysis Engineer for a remote work model. long-term contract opportunity, with our client, based out of Bellevue, WA. The Safety Analysis Engineer is part of a team supporting the design and licensing of the reactor and is primarily responsible for performing Licensing Basis Events (LBE) analyses. The Safety Analysis Engineer may also contribute subject matter expertise to other projects under development by the Sodium Fast Reactor (SFR) Program. Responsibilities<ul><li>Depending on qualification and skills, perform transient analyses to meet the safety analysis needs of the demonstration reactor for Anticipated Operational Occurrence (AOO), Design Basis Event (DBE), Design Basis Accident (DBA), and Beyond Design Basis Event (BDBE).</li><li>Collaborate with safety methods development engineers to establish methods, computational models, and other aspects of the Evaluation Models.</li><li>Work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers to establish SSC functional, performance, safety, and quality requirements as well as support the overall design.</li><li>Establish and maintain documentation of model development and analysis.</li><li>Perform engineering reviews of analyses and other engineering design media.</li><li>Contribute, as needed, to the development of computational models supporting system modeling for design and operational transients as well as PRA.</li><li>Contribute, as needed, to the assessment of the Evaluation Models against applicable tests and perform appropriate benchmark calculations.</li></ul><div>Key Qualifications and Skills<ul><li>B.S. or higher in nuclear engineering or other relevant engineering degree, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the nuclear field.</li><li>Knowledgeable of nuclear systems fundamentals such as thermal-hydraulic, neutronics, dynamics, and reactor transient behavior in general.</li><li>Familiarity and experience with analysis of Anticipated Operational Occurrence (AOO), Design Basis Event (DBE), Design Basis Accident (DBA), and/or Beyond Design Basis Event (BDBE) are required. </li><li>Experience with model development and analysis using engineering computer programs in the following areas<ul><li>System transient analysis: RELAP5, SAS4A/SASSYS-1, GOTHIC or TRACE will be considered</li><li>Radionuclide transport analysis (source term development and analysis): MELCOR, RADTRAD, SRT or equivalent.</li></ul></li><li>Experience with performing and submitting LBEs analyses to the NRC is highly desirable.</li><li>Familiarity with nuclear design, regulatory requirements, and risk-informed performance-based technology guidance for Non-Light Water Reactors is a plus (Licensing Modernization Project process described in NEI-18-04).</li><li>Experience with SFR safety analysis is highly desirable.
